    Hit or miss / Power issue / No smokeI used brand new batteries and the train didn't start so I thought I had the batteries wrong. They were in proper orientation then I flipped the on off switch a few times then I heard a slow whirring noise and the train started up but when you put it on the track it didn't have enough power. Then after 5 minutes it was at full power. The next day it was the same issue no power during start. I swapped batteries with other new ones and same problem. I even returned the train for a replacement and the replacement had the same issue! Another thing to note is there was no smoke in both trains I had. Also once the track is assembles you can't really touch it because it will disconnect easily. Other than this it looks and sounds great I just wished it worked.2Skip itI keep reading, "for 20 bucks"...yea sorry if something doesnt actually work it's not worth a dollar.The tracks do not hold together well at all. The train cannot use all the cars on the track because the last car always comes off and derails the whole thing.Waste of money. Buy something that actually works. Chinese junk.1A very sad day :(So SUPER bummed :'( We purchased this train to go around our Christmas tree and I almost cried when this train wouldn't even turn on for our son. He is almost 2 years old and LOVES trains. He was jumping and dancing around with excitement as I opened the box, removed the train and inserted new batteries purchased just for this day.Imagine his disappointment and mine.And now the price went up $5. No thank you, I will just return this item and take my chances on another train set for my son. I couldn't stand the thought of another disappointment like that.1Great Set For Your TreeFor $20.00, you can't beat this train set. I bought this for my daughter's first tree in her new apartment. It was packed well and was assembled in minutes. We received everything in working order, no broken pieces. There was slight "hot" smell from the smoke but nothing overwhelming or offensive. It's adorable and runs great. We didn't have any derailments or stalls and for such an inexpensive train set, I am very impressed. Of course, if you have an uneven floor, wide grout, or carpet, you may not have the same results. If you want something for around your tree, this is a fantastic option. I apologize for the video, it's not the greatest quality but I think you'll get the idea.5Such a cute, fun, and realistic little choo choo train.....which both grandson and his Dad got a kick out of......My 3 yr old grandson's FAVORITE gift! His parents kept telling him he could not play with it until they got home when his Dad could set it up for him. So then, he what? He begged to GO HOME! They sent me a video of it set up around their Christmas Tree, and my grandson lying on the floor watching it, not being able to take his eyes off it......., and his Dad was surprised that it blows smoke like a real train, as i purposely had not told them about that part, wanted to surprise him.......5This is not a well made train but it's what I expected for the price & fun was had for a timeI fully understood that this was not going to be a well made train set, you can't beat the price but it is that price for a very good reason. My nephew loved it initially. It looks cool and comes with the smoke fluid already in it (that was a fun surprise). My nephew is train obsessed. One of his grandfathers has a huge super cool train layout that fills his entire basement. I got him a expensive train for around the Christmas tree and he comes in contact with a lot of very well made trains that he can't do whatever he wants with because they're expensive. So part of why I bought this cheap train was so he could push it as hard as he wanted however he wanted, no big deal it was under $20. I expected it was going to break but I was hoping it was going to last more than a couple hours. The main problem was the wheels come off super easily. They are attached with the tiniest thinest weakest plastic joints. This train could be soooo much more amazing if they made adjustments to the wheel attachments. Both the connecting train cars wheels had broke within 2 to 3 hours max. The front car lasted a few days but the wheels kept coming off. All in all I'm happy with my purchase because I already knew it was going to be a cheap train. It's disappointing that this train could be an amazing train at an amazing buy if some simple easy to fix adjustments were made with the wheels. I'm sure they could easily cover the costs of the adjustments & charge $5 to $10 more and make this an amazing affordable train (probably $5 really)3Sturdy, Loud, Icky smoke smellThis was an awesome train. Well-built. Falls off the tracks like any train. Doesn t help when the railroad tracks aren t in a flat surface. We had ours on the carpet and on the Christmas tree skirt so it fell off the tracks a lot. It would ve been nice to have hard floors. Also, the smoke that comes out smells weird and the sounds a pretty loud. We have trouble having a conversation while it s going.4Waste of money, cheap madeIt arrived broken, the smoke stopped after 2 minutes the odor was horrible like a burning plastic, no instruction how to set it up or how to refill the oil at all, it is poorly made, the tracks will not hold together they fall apart when the train run, our son broke it all in one hour, what a waste, the sound is loud and you can't turn it off1Cheap, and works great as long as you don't touch it? For 20 bucks, it's not bad.It's hard to keep the train on the tracks, even a slight nudge knocks the whole thing off, but maybe that's just how trains are?The noise is pretty cool, I don't know about realistic, but it's definitely train noises. My three year old loves it though and honestly, that's all that matters to me. It was $20, my expectations were pretty well met, I just wish you could play with it without sound. It's obnoxious.3Should have sprung for a more expensive version.1. Sound that train makes is too loud and the audio loop is too short. It can't be ran for long periods of time before being more of a annoyance.2. The smoke that the train puts out smells toxic. after about 10 mins of playing with the train, the entire loving room had an odor of burning chemicals. The smoke stack only emit visual smoke for about 3 hours of combined intermittent play. after than, it was just the odor.3. The product is very flimsy. After the first 2 points, we considered it not worth the money, then the couplers broke off so the trains couldn't connect to each other.In summary, it was a great idea but at a $20ish price point, the cost was still too much for this item. It's more of a one time use train and for a 9 year old, is only more of a reason to complain about malfunctions than an enjoyment factor.1
