Customer Reviews

Great for the price, good for stacking and nesting. Well, you can't expect much for the price. You can't link them to make a caterpillar. As an adult, I could barely get them together, and they don't stay together. Otherwise they're fine for stacking and nesting. Oh, and also, you can't pour out of them because they all have strainer holes in the bottom. But it's fun to strain water, sand, stones, etc. The top one has a water wheel in it, which is also fun. You can pour water over it to make the wheel spin. But not with any of these cups, because you can't pour from them! The strainer holes on the bottom of each cup is a different pattern, so kids can use them to stamp play dough. I'm going to keep them. They're great for what I'll use them for for the price. 3Munchkin Bath Time Fun For Little Munchkins I got this Caterpillar Spillers and Stacking Cups as part of my granddaughter's 2nd Birthday gift, along with some other bathtub toys. I believe this is the same toy my kids had, and all my grandkids have had this set. There are no batteries involved and they don't squirt which is all around appealing. These cups are bright and colorful and easy to grasp which makes them a great toy for the youngest set. They are stackable which is a skill toddlers of all ages like to practice. None of them hold water and most of them pour too quickly to make them a favorite for toddlers who want to transfer water from one cup to the next. My little one does like me to attach them to each other on the edge of the tub so she can pull them into the water and make them fall apart. It would be great if they stayed together better and could be attached in any order, but after all these years I'd be very surprised if Munchkin decided to improve this toy.I believe this toy would get more use if started younger, rather than older for bathtub use, it might be more fun used with outside water play for older toddlers. It is durable, and it is very inexpensive compared to most water toys. I would recommend this from 6 to 24 mos. If looking for a good tub toy for a 2 year old try TUB SOUP by Alex. 4Fun Toy This set of Munchkin Caterpillar Spillers Stacking Cups are cute and well-made. They nest, stack, and link to provide several kinds of play and learning. They entertain babies and toddlers in a highchair during those perilous minutes when supper isn't quite ready. Older children enjoy them in the bathtub and sandbox. On the living room floor, my grandchildren as old as age 7 enjoy turning them into a train, filling the cups with small toys, and entertaining themselves or their younger siblings with imaginary adventures. The set makes a nice addition to a baby shower gift. 5Cute and colorful, but boring Unfortunately, my kids (1 and 3 years old) don't care for these stackers at all. It's not really fun for them to try and create a caterpillar out of the cups, because, as mentioned in numerous other reviews, the cups don't link together well. I also thought that the different sized holes and shapes in the bottom of the cups would be really fun to watch while they drain the water, but unfortunately, all but the two biggest cups have holes that are too large, which means that the water drains immediately after picking the cup up.I do like that the cups nest together for easy and space-saving storage, and luckily, they were inexpensive. They are bright and colorful and contain the numbers 1-7 on the cups, and we've used them a couple of times to practice numbers and colors in the bath. Other than that, there's really not a lot to do with them. 3Cute and versatile. My son has enjoyed these a lot as he likes to stack, connect, and use them as bowls to make soup and other pretend food. It s also a fun way to teach him colors, counting and matching (he puts smaller toys of corresponding color in each bowl ). Cleaning them is pretty easy, too. As with all water toys, you just have to make sure you wash and dry them regularly to prevent mold. My only issue is that they aren t easy to connect and keep together. They keep falling off when my son tries to pick up or move the whole caterpillar, and it s a pain having to keep connecting the bowls every two seconds. 4These cups are insanely fun. We originally got them for our 14 month ... These cups are insanely fun. We originally got them for our 14 month old daughter because she really liked her regular cup set. She is now 18 months and still enjoys them. We anticipate she will continue to love them for quite some time.It should be noted, however, that while the idea of having the holes cut in different shapes in the bottom of the cups is nice, in practice the water drains out too fast to really notice. The only one that isn't like that is the biggest cup. I like to use that one, letting the water drain out, to spin the spinner in the smallest one. Once she gets older she may start to experiment with this kind of play as well. 5Disappointed with Quality of These Cups I was really excited about these stacking cups as they had great reviews and sounded like a fun bath toy for a great price.I was disappointed with these stacking cups. The only 2 cups that allow the water to pass through in a unique and entertaining way are the one with 2 holes (head) and then the one with a bunch of tiny holes. The other ones don't do anything special and the water simply dumps through them. The colors of the cups are different than pictured, but that doesn't effect my review. The cups do connect as shown, but they easily come disconnected. Overall I don't recommend these if you're looking for a bath toy that provides lasting entertainment. There are other stacking type bath cups that are a better option. 3Still fun 6 years later! I received these as a baby shower gift in 2010 and they were used by my daughters until 2014 when they decided they didn't like them anymore. We thought we were done with babies and then came our youngest in 2015. These were on sale and I couldn't resist buying them again. This little toy was exactly how I remembered it 5 years ago which I was fine with because I never really had any complaints. I actually had regretted getting rid of them because my oldest was diagnosed with autism and one of the most calming things for her was water play.I decided to purchase these again so that all of my kiddos could play with it. Just like I remember, they are easy to clean and brought so much joy to my older two girls. Just like I had hoped my youngest absolutely adores them and this is all she plays with during her bath time. The only negative is the caterpillar is very difficult to actually link together. My six year old cannot even get the caterpillar to snap and then stay together so I know that may be a problem for many other consumers out there. However, it wasn't a big deal to me because my kids never liked it as a caterpillar. The only reason I even mention it is because the toy is advertised in its catepillar shape instead of just showing how you can stack them up, store all the pieces into one cup (they all fit well in the caterpillar face) or the water or sand play that these cups provide kids with a lot of hours of play. If someone based their purchase off of the caterpillar picture, they would be in for a huge disappointment. Again, we love our product and have bought it twice because of that! Everyone just needs to be aware of what they are purchasing. 5Cute, but not super functional These are cute, and my son loves playing with them in the bath, but their functionality is somewhat lacking. Each cup has a different pattern of holes in the bottom for dripping water, but all but two of them have so many/so large of openings that all the water falls out before you can even get it far enough above the water to notice it drips. Overall, they're cheap and still fun, so I'd never return them, but just kinda sad most don't work well for dripping water since my son loves the two that do. 4Colorful but drains a little too fast My 22 month old and I have been playing with these spillers for a couple months. They are fun and colorful, but I was really hoping for cups that drained at different rates because of the various holes in them. My son loves playing with water, so I thought it would be fun for him to watch the water run out differently. These do have a variety of holes, but most of them seem to just drain really fast as if the holes are designed a little too big (it's like you're just pouring the water through). The head (1st cup), 2nd, and last cup are the only ones that have significant difference in draining that you can actually notice and enjoy. He does enjoy that on the few that do it and basically ignores the other cups. But they are colorful and it has been a big part of him learning his colors recently. They hook together, but don't stay together well. Some hooks are really tight and some loose. That's not why I got it, so I'm not that disappointed, but I'm not that impressed with how they hook or stay together.Pros: bright colors, 3 cups drain slowlyCons: 4 cups drain way too fast, hooks together clumsily and doesn't stay togetherOverall, I don't regret buying them, but would have preferred them to be a little different. 4
