    A way to make your "Mexican Train" game feel more elegantMany of our friends play Mexican Train, so we bit the bullet and purchased this set as a way to "upscale" our set. Makes the game look/feel a little more elegant. The metal train engines remind me of the train token in my Monopoly set from 55 years ago. There are 4 different colors of train engines. The wood hub is well made. Thick score pad for playing many games.5Excellent Second TryThis is a nice idea however the hub that I just received looks like a truck had run over it and left tire tracks over one half of the piece. If I can get a hub that is finished nicely and looks good, I will keep it.I have to upgrade my initial evaluation. I placed another order, and the hub, metal trains and score card pad are first rate.. It actually seems hand made. The wood has some grain and I'm sure it will enhance the game in the future.5ALL ABOARD!!!ALL ABOARD!!! Bought the first great Mexican Train Dominoes station in January of this year, and when we would go to one of our friends houses to play, they would always say: "Don't forget to bring your train station when you come over". Since we all love how this station keeps all the players in line and the cast metal train engines are adorable and fun to use, my wife suggested that (since we are going to their house for the 4th of July celebration), we purchase and send a station to them as a thank you for their hospitality. We received their 'thank you' email yesterday WITH "WHAT a HOOT!", and they are excited to use their new station when we see them later this week.5It works for what it s supposed to.It s great for playing Dominoes. The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5 is because the first one I got fell off a shelf and broke. I don t think that means it s a piece of junk, I think it s just a freak accident plus I think it s a little pricey but I really like it for playing Dominoes. It s much sturdier than the piece of plastic the comes with the dominoes set.5Sturdy and good looking. Worth the peace of mind -- read on.I won the last neighborly game and so it is my turn to host the next party. Last party the train garage had a button on it to hit at some point in the game but as the evening went on it was hit time and again. Happy rowdy group. Got on my nerves! This does not have a beeper button, and it is very attractive and sturdy. The little trains are sturdy too and will stay where they are put -- saving time asking if the trains open or whose train belongs where. Worth the peace of mind.5SO disappointed!!!The trains and scorepads are just as described BUT the DOMINO DOES NOT FIT INTO THE CENTER OF THE WOODEN HUB. I measured my domino tiles prior to ordering and they fell in the range described. I ordered two sets of the hub/trains/scorepads....one for myself and one as a gift; I am SO disappointed and don't feel I can give this as a gift now.2Fun game made easy.This hub is a solid addition to the Mexican Train game. The whole kit is well-made. I like that they put the game rules in with everything. They are very clear for beginners.5Great set!I bought this set when my kids started to enjoy dominoes. For a while I debated because it seemed too expensive for something I thought would be cheaply made and easily broken. We use this set every time! The wooden piece is sturdy and nicely made. It raises the center domino high enough for everyone to see it. The little trains are pretty, and heavy for their size. None of ours are tarnishing, either. I am always the scorekeeper, and I love this scoresheet so much I bought an extra pad. This set would be a great gift for any domino player. Also, I think it is an educational game for the kids because they practice math, problem solving, and strategy.5Not fancy, but it does work with Target dominoesThis is a fairly decent domino hub to play Mexican train - not very fancy though. I purchased my Dominoes from Target and they will fit this hub nicely. At Target, I purchased the Cardinals Mexican train dominoes (1 SET) . The set had the dominoes and 8 plastic trains. It was a compromise but works well if you are not very picky.I hope this helps those who were disappointed that their dominoes did not fit into this train hub.3Adds to the fun of Mexican TrainWe have enjoyed this accessory with one caveat: The dominos we bought are slightly larger than the cavity in the top of the "station". That's a minor complaint, but it keeps me from giving this accessory 5 stars. The engines are metal and sturdy, the "station" is wood. With the one exception I've mentioned, this is a well-constructed and quality product.4
